Altruly is a ‘new kind of mobile giving app’. A fundraising platform for charities and non profit organisations to link with people who want to donate and see where their money goes.


Altruly originally was solely a web system that combines proven fundraising channels such as social media, with untapped fundraising opportunities.

The brief was to create a mobile first platform, specifically designed for the people who will be using it, the smartphone generation. The app needed to use micro-payments and have a focus to unlock this new market of charitable donors.

By building a simple CMS for internal use we were able to get charity data onto the system. This allows for users to have a bank of charities to choose from when first downloading the app.

The API provides a web-based data store to serve data to the app and CMS. All of this with the iOS app allows users to browse, access and donate to a given charity. The expectations of the user are particularly relevant with the millennial market so the the UI/UX was produced from user-feedback which took place throughout multiple points of the project.

The platform engages its growing audience, allowing charities to provide information on things that its users really care about. This allows for smaller, non-profit and less mainstream charitable donations to be made, and tracked.
